Sindhu Darshan Festival in Leh

Sindhu Darshan Festival is celebrated for 3 days in Leh since 1997. This was started to promote national Unity.

It is believed that India got its name from Sindhu River. In a way it is treated as birth origin or cradle of Indian Civilization.

Sindhi River is integral to Identity of Nation. Sindhu Darshan festival is organized for three days every year. This is the perfect time to visit the remote region of Leh and Ladakh.

This is organized in Shey Manla which is about 8 km from Leh. This vestival starts with the Sindhu Yatra. The Sindhu River originates from the holy mansarovar Lake. This Lake is considered to be sacred place. Journey to this lake is considered as holy pilgrimage.

The Namgyal Tsemo Shey Palace and the Stok Palace Museumare some of the must-see places in Ladakh.

Traditional Ladakhi Buddhist prayer ceremonies inaugurate the Festival.

A visit to the Ladakh and Zanskar region gompas is a must.

Cultural troops from all over the country are seen converge at Shey Manla for this three-day long festival.
